Trying to run the Example for the Distance measurement , it is not working as in the procedure

I flashed the same code to the two nrf5340dk but i get the below output , with out any changes in the example sample code.


it gives the serial output every time


E: IPC endpoint bond timeout
E: Failed to send group init packet for group id: 0 strid: dm_rpc_grp err: -32
E: Not all groups are ready to use.

Hi,

I bet this is due to you having not added the right config to the network core of the nRF5340. You can check if there is some additional config in the sample folder that you should use. Though with that said, what samples are you using? The nordic distance measurement "NDT" samples? Channel sounding ones? And what NCS version are you using?

Used example:

Using SDK:  nRF Connect SDK v3.1.1

Choosed Board target : nrf5340dk/nrf5340/cpuapp  (also using the nrf5340dk(PCA10095))

And i also check that the both cores(application & Net) are programmed in the nrf programmer. Also nodevice is visible in the nrf connect app.

I see it on my side as well. Then I found this case, and figured the fix there just hadn't made it to the 3.1 branch yet. Though now I am not so sure. I tried making the solution manually on my side, and still see the issue.

Does adding CONFIG_SOC_NRF53_CPUNET_ENABLE=y make a difference on your side?

CONFIG_SOC_NRF53_CPUNET_ENABLE=y  makes no change in the error.


Can you suggest me any working software version for the distance measurement in  nrf5340dk(PCA10095)) which is already tested.

Could you share me the working software setup versions for the distance measurement application ?

Yeah, then we are seeing the same thing. Looks like some sort of regression, as this fixed the same issue on an earlier version of NCS. I'm forwarding this problem to the relevant R&D team, I'll let you know how the issue progresses. In the meantime you could also try an earlier NCS version.
