Can the nPM1300 be used without any charging support (no battery, no fuel gauge)?
I know this is an unusual arrangement but we have a requirement that a separate device will look after battery management. However, the nPM1300 would be a very cost effective solution to the rest of the power supply requirements if we can bypass or ignore its battery management features.
The output from our battery management device is the battery voltage. We want to make that the input to the nPM1300 but we do not want the nPM1300 to attempt to charge it, and we do not need the nPM1300 to provide any fuel gauge support. We just want to use the nPM1300 to manage the regulated outputs and we want to use its LED and GPIO pins.
Would this work? Are there any special precautions we would need to take?
