start indicationns in health_thermometer app using bluez

Hi All,

I am able to successfully connect to nrf51822 EK using BlueZ 5.12 and can read many of the characteristics except for the temperature value.

I understand that this value cannot be directly read as it is an indicator so I was wondering if anyone has had any success starting indication in the health_thermometer app using bluez and the nrf51822 EK (PCA10001)?

I'm fairly certain that the built-in Thermometer profile should work with such devices, so you should be able to use the D-Bus API exposed by it to receive measurements. You may possibly be able to refer to this test script to see how it may be done, but I haven't tested this lately.

Unfortunately, as far as I know there is currently no D-Bus API to implement a custom GATT Service with BlueZ, except by making a profile plugin similar to the temperature one. A D-Bus GATT API is apparently upcoming, but I don't have any further details.
