PCA10143 DK Altium Library question

Hello,

The Altium lib provided with the DK, has two geometries, one with an "_2" at the end, what is the difference between these? (if any).

Thank you,

Belenie

  • Hello Belenie,
We try to avoid using the PCA numbers as they are a bit non-descriptive towards customers. You've selected nRF5340 as component, but based on the PCA10143 I assume you are using the nRF7002 DK with the nRF5340 on it.
That said, there are no differences between the two components on the PCB library besides the location of them in the "selection" view. So one is placed slightly more centre in the area you have to/can click to open up the component view compared to the other. It's the only difference.
If I'm guessing the source of the second one, I'd say it's a case of clumsy fingers making a duplicate in the PCB library and then it's renamed with _2 by Alitum to avoid naming conflict.
It is the AQFN40P700X700X85_HS-99N that has been used in the DK.
    Best regards
