Hi Nordic Support,
I’m designing a product with the nPM2100 using NiMH batteries.
I know the fuel gauge feature is designed for primary cells and lacks hardware coulomb counting, so it won't track charge cycles perfectly.
However, my current alternative is just measuring raw voltage thresholds, which only gives me a crude "Low / Mid / High" estimate.
My question is: Is it possible to generate a battery profile for NiMH that runs with the nPM2100's host algorithm?
I understand the limitations (hysteresis, flat curves, etc.), but I'm looking for anything that offers better granularity than my current method. Would the algorithm still provide an improvement here?
Thanks for your help.
