Is any power-on sequence required for the SOC.
Also, can we use an LDO or buck converter instead of a PMIC IC (nPM1300)?

No, there is only the VDD power rail available. This one is either tied to VDDH or powered from VDDH using internal regulator.
If you tied VDD to VDDH you can use an external converter or LDO for both. See reference circuit No. 2 in the PS as an example.

The main difference between using internal DC/DC vs. LDO is the current consumption. See, e.g., the radio current consumption.
