Hi,
Question on the nRF7002. Can it be used as a hotspot to support 5 -10 wifi clients?
Basically, the need may be to download user manuals on site with a tablet.
Thanks,
Belenie

Hi,
According to Nordic's SoftAP mode documentation, the nRF70 series supports Software-enabled Access Point mode (SoftAP or SAP). By using this mode, the nRF7002 can act as a hotspot because the mode allows the device to work as a temporary AP as well as it allows other WiFi station devices to connect. Normally, it is also used when WiFi devices want to share their connection with station devices which are located nearby.
However, according to the limitations stated in the documentation, 1 client can be completely supported as SAP mode supports a single station device connection and provides experimental support for up to 8 clients. 5 to 10 clients as you mentioned, would be using experimental functionality if it is up to 8 clients meaning it is not guaranteed to be stable but alright for testing and evaluating. It is not recommended for production. More than 8 clients (for ex.10 clients) would be exceeding the experimental maximum and is not supported by the documentation.
Hope this helps.
