Trying to connect nrf52840 DK with MAX30102 heart rate sensor

So hello everyone,
I am a computer science student with zero IoT background. I am trying to a wearable device . I want to nrf52840DK with max30102 heart rate sensor and communicating using Rpl protocol basically forming a mwsh like structure . Now I have purchased all the required hardware . But I have zero idea on how to get started and how to flash code or how to connect the sensor . I don't have any idea on if a debugger is required . If someone could help me out , it would be great.

The DKs have a J-Link debugger on board. Try running some samples from within VS code first.

A lot of pins on the DK are connected to other chips and devices (buttons, LEDS). Try to find some free ones and configure them to be used for I2C bus (using DTS overlay).

And yes, you have to read a ton of documentation...
