Custom Board NORA B106 No output after flashing

Hello,

 

I'm using the NORA-B106-00B-00 (nRF5340) on a custom PCB board. I can program the board, but there is no output i.e. print statements coming out of the board, as I would have expected them to. I have seen the board output a few times, but even resetting the board, it seems the code doesn't run.

This is happening on two boards, so I'm now going through the schematic to see if there is a hardware problem. I've ordered the evaluation kit for this chip, which I will run my code to see if there is any output.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be happening, or things I can look at?

Those modules don't have the LFXO crystal populated - which all nordic sample code requires by default.

AFAIK you need a custom dts overlay in order to switch to (calibrated) LFRC.

Hello,

Sounds to me you may want to use:

CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_XTAL=n
CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_RC=y

Make sure this is the case for all builds you have.

Is there a way to boot on the fast oscilator that is on the module?

Also, when I add back MCUBOOT, and the net core, it doesn't run. Do these two lines of code, need to be added somewhere  else, other  than the prj.conf

Yes. Look up how to configure sub projects in a sysbuild for mcuboot.

Net core should not care IIRC.
