Can i debug nRF9151 with 3rd party debugger using nRF connect desktop

Hi,

I have developed custom hardware based on the nRF9151 chipset.

I would like to program the firmware using nRF Desktop (Programmer) with a third-party SEGGER J-Link debugger. Is this possible?

Will a J-Link debugger (for example, SEGGER J-Link v8.08.91 segger 8.08.91 ) be detected directly in the nRF Desktop Programmer tool, or is it recommended to use an nRF DK board instead for flashing and debugging?

Please let me know the supported and recommended approach.

Thank you.

Do you think the same voltage configuration is possible when using a third-party SEGGER J-Link debugger with my custom board?

You can use a SEGGER J-Link with a 1.8 V custom board, as long as VTref is tied to your board’s 1.8 V rail and the J-Link model supports that voltage range.

Using the nRF9151 DK, I can configure the target voltage through nRF Connect Desktop.

I assume you are using the Board configurator.? In that case, that would not be possible if you want to work with a custom board. The board configurator tool connects to the Board Controller on the DK to configure the DK. Not the SoC. This has been discussed in this thread: Board Configurator tool is not working with nRF54L chip
