Adding Nordic Documentation to claude code or gemini-cli

Hi

I want to add the nordic documentation as an MCP server to claude and gemini clis. But this seems to require authentification by Kaipa, which is  a paid service ?

Do I need to pay to access the official Documentation via MCP ?

Kind regards

Peter

  • Hi,

You do not need an API key. You need to provide a valid Google account to perform the authentication. It can be any Google account and it's there to prevent spam.

After running claude mcp add --transport http nordic-semiconductor-docs https://nordicsemi.mcp.kapa.ai you need to run /mcp in order to open the browser for authentication. I guess that you ran this already, and when you see that “needs authentication” line it means that you should see a browser window open, requesting Google authentication.

Do you see a browser pop up asking for Google authentication, as this is required for authentication in place of an API key.
