NRF5340 Audio DK no power over USB Port

Hello, 

I have a problem with my DK. Everytime I try to plug it in the USB C port of my Computer the J-Link OB is the only Chip that wakes up. I cant program the nrf5340 in this state and the normal flashed program wont run. Only when I plug the board in a powerbank or a laptop powersuply the nrf5340 wakes up and I can program the board over the SWD Interface. Could anyone imagine why this is happening ? The USB C cable is in the two cases the same, so it could not be a bad connection. When the board is not working in the USB port, I can see some LEDs are blinking when I move the cable.

Hi,

It can be related to the current limit on the USB port from PC. Probably average current will not be problem but some initial inrush current can cause the issue. To verify it you can either try to measure instantaneous current and voltage to see any abnormal change is happening or try different USB ports or different PC. Also try to reduce current consumption of board if possible to see if the issue persists.

it works when I use a cable without a data line. So probably the J-Link OB is the problem, but the programming drive works.

Is the behavior still there? Do you see similar behavior when using another DK (if you have around) ?  Or simply trying on another PC if available ?

No,I have another DK from the delivery service and now it works. I found a damage on the audio codec and I thing that this cost a short circuit.
