Best SDK+SoftDevice combination for nRF51822-EK v2.0.0

Hi,

I have version 2.0.0 of Evaluation Kit. I was waiting for the new SDK and SD 6.0.0 but I have seen the warning about hardware versions. I have to finish a SoftDevice+SPI example quickly.

What is the best combination of SDK and SoftDevice for v2.0.0 EK for such a proof-of-concept?

I have versions 4.4.0, 4.4.2 and 4.2.0 of SDK and SoftDevice 5.1.0, 5.2.1 and 6.0.0 . Which ones goes best on v2.0.0 EK?

As you can see in the migration whitepaper, the first revision chip is officially supported only with SDK 4.x.x, and this only works with S110 version 5.2.1.

However, the primary recommendation is to get hold of a second revision chip and/or kit, and use this for development. There shouldn't be any major problems with using the latest versions of the S110/SDK with a first revision chip, but you may see occasional softdevice asserts as detailed in this question. They will not happen with a second revision chip.

Yes, for this kit 4.4.2 and 5.2.1 should be fine. Be aware that the first revision chip does not have the SPI slave, so if you need this, you must get a second revision chip before being able to make the demo.
