Config_pm not supported in nrF54L15

Hey all,
I wanted to enable shutdown and standby modes for this chip, but realised that I can not use the layer of zephyr.
When i try to CONFIG_PM=y in prj.conf it does not support, i also verified the files and for now it seems it is not supported.
Can this be added in the next release version?

Hello,

This is already supported without CONFIG_PM on the nRF54L as much of the power management is handled automatically in HW. The chip will automatically enter System ON idle mode (sleep) from the idle thread when there is no work to do. For system OFF mode (shutdown), you can have a look at the sample here: https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-latest/page/zephyr/samples/boards/nordic/system_off/README.html#nrf_system_off.

Thank you for replying. So measuring the current of the chip i got 3.6mA, and with shutdown i got some really good values. To do standby or idle mode there are functions that can do that?

Hi,

I would recommend you try the Hello World sample with CONFIG_SERIAL=n (disabled). After returning from main() it will just enter the idle thread and stay in System ON mode indefinitely. The full 256K of RAM will be retained.

The problem is that i don't have that type of sample, i just wanted to understand what are the steps to put the chip in Standby ON IDLE mode.

The scheduler automatically enters the idle thread when there is no work to do, and the idle thread is responsible for putting the chip in System ON mode. You can try this in any project. I mentioned "Hello world" because it simple and doesn't do anything else.
