About QDID For Sig Ceritifaction

Hi.

I am attempting to obtain SIG certification.

I am using ncs v3.1.1 with nRF52833.

Based on the link below,

https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/comp_matrix_nrf52833/page/COMP/nrf52833/nrf52833_ble_qdid_qual_matrix.html

I submitted the application through a certification agency with Q370938 as the Host and Q360830 as the Controller.

However, I am encountering a problem because the Controller DN Q360830 does not support channel sounding, while the Host DN Q370938 does.

As far as I know, the 52833 does not support channel sounding;

And they said that the controller supports 1M, 2M, and Coded, but since I stated that my product only uses 1M, they say that a QDID valid only for 1M is required.

In addition, it is said that the Host requires a QDID that does not support channel sounding, etc.

in this case, what should I use as the QDID?

Issue is ILD Issue.

  • Hi

    I had a chat with one of the certification experts in-house today, and he confirmed my suspicions. The requirement for a QDID to the specific PHY used is not correct. You can claim 2Mbps capability on your device without using it in the application for example, so that should not be an issue.

    The QDID DNs you submitted are correct for the nRF52833, with Q370938 as the Host and Q360830 as the Controller. Q370938 was specifically made to remove the Channel Sounding ICS item. They can look in the GAP table 25a where no Channel sounding features are selected for example.

    The nRF52833 (as you said initially) doesn't support Channel Sounding, so getting a QDID for that wouldn't be possible in the first place. Please ask your agency to double check the QDIDs you provided, or get a second opinion.

    Best regards,

    Simon
