npm1300 power consumption problem

We are experiencing an issue with high current consumption when using the nPM1300 powered by a battery.
In Hysteretic mode, the battery current draw measures 109 µA. However, if we disconnect the INT pin and apply 3.3V to the VBUS pin of the nPM1300 (and then remove the 3.3V supply), the battery current draw drops to 12.7 µA.
On the firmware side, we have already followed the recommendations on the Nordic website to force the BUCK converter into Hysteretic mode, but the issue persists.
Could you please advise on how to resolve this?

  • Hi

Can you share some details on what battery you're using here exactly? If it's an almost discharged battery or a weak battery for a hefty circuit this behavior could occur. What else is in this circuit except the nPM1300? Is it another nRF device or something else?

Also, how do you do the current measurement on your end?

    Best regards,

    Simon
