We are looking at using the Nordic nPM1300 in a new design. After reviewing the datasheet in detail, I have an issue: The Overvoltage Protection threshold. The datasheet says the value for VBUSovp is 5.5V typical. It does not provide a characterised min or max value for this. Given that the USB-C specification states that Vbus at 5V may now go as high as 5.5, this leads to possible issues with the nPM1300 switching off at or around Vbus=5.5V.
Can you please provide any further information about this? Is there a VBUSOVP min value that is not published in the datasheet? We do not ship a charger with our product so the user can use whatever charger they have available. Out in the real world, 5.5V Vbus is a possibility.
