Manage firmware updates in the nRF Cloud is changed and can not find out how to update our devices using FOTA

Hello,

We have set up our nRF91 based devices, to use the nRFCloud for the data transfer and also to manage FOTA, in our fleet. Using the nRFCloud firmware updates feature, we have uploaded a number of bundles that we use for FOTA our devices. More specifically using the Groups feature we initiate FOTA to many devices at once. Since a few hours ago, the Firmware Updates feature in nRF Cloud has stopped working as expected and no longer behaves the way it previously did. It redirects you to the new nrfcloud (memfault), as shown in the following screenshot.

In the new nRFCloud, we can not see all of our devices. The data and shadow register as it used to be in the legacy nRFCloud can not be found. Moreover, our FOTA bundles that we use to update our devices can not be found. Finally and very important, is that, we can not find out how to perform a firmware update in the new nRFCloud.

To resolve the above issue is very important because we have set up our currently running production, based on the legacy nRFCloud, and the new experience (memfault) seems that it does not work out of the box, and we can not find out how to perform the same actions as we used to in the legacy nRFCloud.

Could you please advice about the above issue and this transition to the new nrfcloud?

Thank you

  • Hi,

We are experiencing the same issue here. All devices in the memfault's cloud are in "Last seen: Never" state, we can not access the shadows, can not perform firmware upgrade, can't do anything with the fleet.

The migration (was it intended? tested? some risk assessment?) disrupts fleet in production and very negatively affects the customer experience.

    With best regards,
    Dmitry
