2 mono stream in the same for multi language usecasse

I am testing an Auracast setup with a Samsung Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy Buds2 Pro, where my goal is to broadcast two streams with different languages and select either one from the phone. The Galaxy A54 5G appears in the Bluetooth SIG Auracast product finder as an Assistant, and the Galaxy Buds2 Pro are listed as a Receiver, so this use case seems valid in principle.

In my tests, the phone detects two Auracast streams, but it shows the same name for both entries, and only one of them is actually audible. I reproduced the same behavior using a board based on the nRF5340 Audio DK, including a setup with two subgroups carrying different language metadata.

I also verified separately that the language metadata for each subgroup is correctly emitted and detectable, so the issue does not seem to come from the broadcast configuration itself. At this point, it looks more like the A54 Assistant can discover the broadcast, but does not correctly differentiate or select the two language streams when multiple subgroups are presen

  • Hi,

I also verified separately that the language metadata for each subgroup is correctly emitted and detectable, so the issue does not seem to come from the broadcast configuration itself. At this point, it looks more like the A54 Assistant can discover the broadcast, but does not correctly differentiate or select the two language streams when multiple subgroups are presen

Since you've confirmed the language metadata is correctly emitted and detectable, the problem most likely lies in how the Samsung Galaxy A54 and Galaxy Buds2 handle multiple subgroups. Please report the behavior to Samsung, as this appears to be an issue with subgroup differentiation.

  • Hello Amanda,

    Thanks for the feedback.

I will report this to Samsung via the Members app including logs from the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy Buds2. The issue seems consistent on my side, where multiple Auracast subgroups are shown under the same broadcast name without separation.

    Regards,
    Khalil
