NRF5340 SoftDevice Controller reports different version than NRF5340 QDID matrix

Hello,

I noticed that the SoftDevice Controller for nrf5340 in nrf Connect SDK 3.1.0 reports a bluetooth version of 6.1 (LMP Version 0x0F), yet the QDID for it (Q360820) is listed as using Core Spec 6.0.

Do the versions need to match? 

Is it an issue for Bluetooth certification where a listing declares compatibility with a certain Core-Spec version, say 6.0 to match the version documented in Nordic's NRF5340 QDID matrix, yet the controller component declares it supports a later version via LL_VERSION_REQ/IND?

    I am not sure my last question is that clear, so I will re-state and provide more context.

    We are partnering with a testing service to be able to get a Bluetooth product certified. Our plan was to use the QDIDs for the pre-qualified host and controller components from Nordic as part of the design certification. As we are using the nrfConnect 3.1.0 SDK, we filled out paperwork for the testing service indicating host:Q370938, controller: Q360820, and Core Spec: 6.0. 

    During their tests, the service discovered this discrepancy with the LMP version returned by the controller for the LL_VERSION_REQ. I do not have their detailed response at this time, only that they were initially concerned that this was quite a problem with our certification effort. Will update with more detail when I have it. 

    From Nordic's perspective, is it required for the qualified controller to return a LMP version that matches the Core Spec version of the controller's qualification listing (6.0 in this case) for it be valid to use as part of a product's certification?

    I looked briefly, and it appears that this is only time (checked back to 2.0.0 SDK) that the controller LMP version has changed without also a new QDID being obtained. For all other times that the LMP version changed a new QDID was acquired.
