We are using a Fanstel module that integrates the nRF5340 BLE SoC and nRF7002 Wi-Fi companion IC in a single module.
We have manufactured approximately 1,000 boards, and the customer is currently facing an intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity issue in some devices.
Our application is based on nRF Connect SDK v2.6.2.
Problem Description
The device randomly disconnects from the Wi-Fi network after approximately 24–48 hours of continuous operation.
After the Wi-Fi disconnection:
- The device is unable to reconnect to the Wi-Fi network automatically.
- Reconfiguring the Wi-Fi credentials does not resolve the issue, and the device still fails to connect.
- All other functionalities, including BLE, continue to work as expected. The device remains operational and accessible through BLE.
- The device reconnects to Wi-Fi only after a complete power cycle (power OFF/ON).
Since approximately 1,000 boards have already been manufactured, this issue is a significant concern for deployment and production.
Could you please help us identify the possible cause of this issue and suggest any recommended debugging steps or fixes?
