Hi, I am looking for information on expected current consumption of nrf5340 when there is no firmware loaded in the flash i.e. if the flash is erased and device powered up, as per the data sheet the application core would be running and network core is in Force off mode. In this case, would the current consumption be similar to executing Coremark on application core as described in section 'Application CPU running' of Current consumption • nRF5340 Product Specification • Technical Documentation

in the documentation, the lowest current consumption is around 3.3mA for CoreMark running from flash in Application core.

The lower CoreMark figures assume DCDC operation - which is enabled by application code. No app, no DCDC switching mode.

Thus I believe you need to use the highest value here with the LDO enabled, it should be a closer approximation.

Hi,

After a reset, the CPU frequency will always be 64 MHz using the HFINT with the LDO regulator selected. We don't provide numbers for this exact scenario in the PS, but I measured this on an nRF5340 DK here on my desk using a PPK2 and measured an average current of around 5.7 mA.
