While building the program I get this error message:

As far as I can tell, this error message is releated to some shared by the modem for tracing .

I don't want to use tracing at this point, so how can I get rid of this?

Please note that the files that you link to (ie. overlay-modem-trace-over-uart.conf / overlay-modem-trace-shmem.overlay) shall be added in fields within VS Code:
"Extra Kconfig fragments"
"Extra Devicetree overlays"
