Hi Peter,
The accuracy of VREF doesn't need to be considered separately as the inaccuracy from VREF is included in the ADC Gain error. Keeping it as close to 0.9v should be sufficient. The external reference voltage should be close to the internal reference voltage. Preferably no more than 5% deviation from the internal reference voltage, VREF.
