nRF93M1-DK connecting UART directly to extrnal MCU

Hello,

I have a nRF93M1-DK and I need to connect the nRF93M1 UART directly to an external MCU.

I can use USB1 connector just for power up the module but I need to totally exclude nRF54, nRF53 and FSA24466UMX.
I need a clean communication without any interference.

Is there an easyer way to do it instead of unsoldering U9 (FSA24466UMX)?

Hi Stefano,

You can write a firmware for the nRF54 that drives VCOM1_CTL to high, and configures the P0.00 - P0.03 pins to High-Z input. That way, U9 will disconnect the USB VCOM from the module UART, and connect it to the nRF54 pins, which are configured to do nothing. So, effectively, the module UART pins are now not connected to anything, and you can access them directly on the P5 header.
