We're in EMC testing for a host product built on the nRF9151 (LACA A1A, FCC ID 2ANPO00NRF9151), running modem firmware mfw_nrf9151-ntn 1.0.1.
We're in EMC testing for a host product built on the nRF9151 (LACA A1A, FCC ID 2ANPO00NRF9151), running modem firmware mfw_nrf9151-ntn 1.0.1.
For our lab build, we drive the modem with %XRFTEST. On this NTN firmware only the short form (band, frequency, power) is documented, and it produces an unmodulated CW carrier. We also tried the full production-test form with system mode, modulation and RB parameters (e.g. %XRFTEST=1,1,13,7820,-10,1,0,6,0,0,0,0,0). The modem accepts it, but a spectrum analyser shows the output is still a single CW tone, not a modulated LTE-M or NB-IoT signal.
Could you advise:
- Is there a way to produce a modulated LTE-M or NB-IoT test signal on mfw_nrf9151-ntn 1.0.x, or is CW the only non-signaling option on this firmware?
- For host composite and unintentional-emissions testing (KDB 996369 D04 §3.6.5), does Nordic recommend CW non-signaling, or a signaling link on a base-station simulator such as a CMW500, with the product's normal firmware?
- Could we use the standard mfw_nrf91x1 firmware for this testing, and would results with it be considered representative of our shipping NTN firmware.
