Hi DevZone team,
I was recently setting up nrfutil on a new Windows machine.
As per the Installing nRF Util docs, nrfutil requires the SEGGER J-Link Tools as prerequisite.
At least for nRF Util itself on windows, using "Option 3: winget" to install nrfutil was very convenient, compared to the SEGGER J-Link tools need to be installed manually.
I noticed that a SEGGER J-Link tools winget package exists and also seems to be managed by Nordic Semi too, `winget install -e --id NordicSemiconductor.JLink`. Unfortunately, it is very outdated (v8.18.0 vs the recommended v9.24a).
However, after looking at the winget community package manifests, I realised that not only does Nordic Semi host the outdated installer files but already host the latest recommended version: v9.24a - files.nordicsemi.com/.../JLink_Windows_V924a_x86_64.exe (alongside older versions between the two).
Is it possible for Nordic Semi to update the manifests for the existing JLink winget package, or (even better) maintain the manifests alongside the nrfutil winget package?
Being able to use winget to install both JLink tools and nrfutil would massively streamline the setup and install process.
Or even better, having both the prerequisite winget packages (JLink tools - "NordicSemiconductor.JLink" and/or Visual C++ - "Microsoft.VCRedist.2015+.x64") as nrfutil package dependencies.
Thanks.
