nRF54LM20 + nRF7002, NCS 3.4.1: SoftAP provisioning and station low power in one image
Our battery-powered product (no BLE antenna), removed due to space in the PCB and cost) is provisioned through a SoftAP, then reboots into station mode for normal
operation, where it needs nRF70 low-power mode. AP and station never run at
the same time.
In NCS 3.4.1, zephyr/drivers/wifi/nrf_wifi/Kconfig.nrfwifi has
config NRF_WIFI_LOW_POWER
depends on !NRF70_RADIO_TEST && !NRF70_AP_MODE
so any image with CONFIG_NRF70_AP_MODE=y loses low-power mode, and RPU
recovery with it (it depends on NRF_WIFI_LOW_POWER).
1. Is the restriction in the nRF7002 firmware, or only in the host driver?
2. Is there a supported way to include AP mode and still use low power while
in station mode, for example with low power disabled at runtime only
while the AP runs?
3. If not, is it planned, and what does Nordic recommend for SoftAP
provisioning on a low-power product?
4. Is Wi-Fi Easy Connect (DPP, enrollee role) supported on the nRF7002 in
NCS 3.4.1, as an alternative to SoftAP?
