Is OTA updates a reason to chosse Bluetooth Smart?

Question regarding blog from Thomas Søderholm (blog.nordicsemi.com/.../which-technology-should-i-choose-to-connect-my-wearable-device-to-a-phone):

Can't you do update over-the-air with Bluetooth Classic, Zigbee or Thread, etc?

Thomas identifies the ability to do OTA updates as a competitive advantage.

I can only speculate that he is highlighting Nordic's bootloader that is provided as part of the SDK as an advantage. I don't recall any mention in the Bluetooth Specs to a bootloading service or stack layer. You can do OTA updates with Zigbee, I've done a proprietary one on that technology.
