nrf52 module recommendation

Dear All, I see that there are many nrf52 modules available for shipping already. May I check with you, which one is the best interms of ease of development(HW/SW) and support? Any experiences with any of the manufacturer?

thank you

  • Hi,

Only you can decide which module is the best for you by evaluating your needs and seeing whether a module meets those needs.

Personally we decided to go with the Rigado BMD-300 module. The price is reasonable and they have a support ticket system that is very helpful and responsive, often times responding in an hour.

But again I suggest that you evaluate a few modules yourself to determine which one works best for you.

  • Hello module user :-)

I have a question regarding module.....

I am making a desing with Bluetooth, and i don't know yet if i go for the ref design solution or for the module.... The module cost around 4$ more by unit. The ref design of the nrf52 seems quite simple....

So why use a module ?

  • Hi. It is simply because using a module might save you a lot of time and money. If you are designing your own device from scratch (even if you copy our reference design) your product will have to go through qualifications and certifications. A relevant question was asked here yesterday. But it depends on your production volume, though. At some point you will save money making the design yourself as you can save money by choosing components yourself and probably reduce the PCB size.
