nRF51822 3rd party module programming

Hello everyone,

We want to develop a wearable product using nRF51822, we found there are 3rd party module mentioned on the Nordic Semiconductor. And there are some development kit available on the website for nRF51822 , nRF51- Dongle and nRF51-DK.

Now we want to know whether nRF51- Dongle and nRF51-DK can be used to program/debug the 3rd party module as well or we have to purchase Segger for this application.

Hi,

The nRF51 DK has an on board debugger/programmer that can be used to program other chips as long as the debug interface is accessible. The nRF51 dongle does not have any debugger/programmer and can not be used for this purpose. See for example this blog post on how to program custom nRF5x devices.
