Which sdk version for ic rev 2 devices

Hello All,

The compatibility matrix states that the sdk for rev 2 devices has been discontinued on version 6.1.

We have some other products with rev 3 devices where we can use sdk ver 10.0.

We want to use sd130.

I do not find a clear answer for:

  • is sdk 10.0 usable for rev2 devices production Code

  • does sd130 runs on rev2 devices?

I am curious because we have build sd130 on rev2 devices using keil packs. And there is no limitation for driver version etc. at all. Alo i am curious how to maintain source compatibility because the new sdk often add/delete/update api.

Regards, Adib.

  • Hi,

Your application can work on the SDK10 and with S130, I have tested one application that I made for the rev3 and it worked on one rev2 chip (I only made this because in the beginning the people that gave me the chip told me it was a rev3). So you need to test yourself your application.

The only thing that Nordic explain with the compatibility matrix is that if they say it works with some SDK or SD it really works, but if they don't say it can work depending on the modules you use and the changes that were made between rev 2 and rev 3.

  • Ops, I'm sorry. I stand corrected. SDK V6.1.0 is certainly compatible with rev 2. I assumed that you were confused about why S120 V2.x does not seem to be compatible with SDK V6.1.0 and my thoughts short circuited.
