power consumption

I've testing a Raytac mdbt40 module and I'm running the ble uart example (sdk 9.0, gcc debug enabled, no gcc optimization) and no external 32khz crystal

I can scan and connect to the module with my phone so it's running fine.

But I'm getting 18mA (180mV with a 10 ohm resistor in serie with ble module power supply) consumption without anything plugged on the GPIO .... !

Is it possible to get such high value ?

Is this the average current or a current peak?

Mesured with a multimeter. So I would say average as the value displayed is stabled

The value is very high indeed. What multimeter are you using?

A Basic multimeter.
But got same result with scope.

I have found the problem but have not fixed it yet: If I remove call to buttons_leds_init then consumption is ok (much less than 1mA with softdevice enabled with 4mA peak)

If I had the buttons_leds_init in the init. Then I have 5mA softdevice disabled, 17mA with soft device enabled

I'm currently checking what is the problem in this init, bsp config file I guess

The BSP will by default set up 4 pins as output and 4 as input. If the output pins are connected to ground through some load, current will flow there. Do you have a custom pcb layout?
