Unable to set frequency of simple timer more than 250kHz

Hey I'm newbie,

I am using simple timer of nRF52 for my Project, I set frequency of 16MHz for simple timer but Im getting frequency of 280kHz, I tried at other frequencies also, for 250kHz its giving 249 kHz properly, above 250kHz i.e., 500kHz, 1MHz, 4MHz, 8MHz and 16MHz its giving 280kHz frequency max.

I am wondering, what are you triggering with that timer? Interrupt? You are aware of that CPU is clocked 64MHz, and firing interrupts cost some cycles, right? I would try triggering PPI events to check frequency. You can post some code here. Ah, right. Max timer clock is 16M, so probably it could be hard to get same frequency of events...
