What is the use of the OSC in COMP?

IN COMP of 52832, I find that a current source around the COMP form a OSC with a cap. I want to know what is the use of this OSC. And can the current source be disabled if I only use the comparator ?. Thank you.

The current source is used for capacitve sensing which is special capability of COMP. You surely can and even should disable it if you only use comparator.
