With there being +/- 4dBm variability in output power from nRF52 to nRF52, each device needs to be calibrated in order to comply with FCC rules. One of the rules is there can only be x dBm difference from device to device. I think each device needs to be within 0.5dBm on either side of the certified device.
Anyways, just going on experience from past projects, finer control over output power is better. Is it possible to get sub 1dBm steps on the nRF52? I looked through the datasheet and didn't find anything obvious.
