Power supplay requierments for NRF52832

hi

i didn't manage to find detailed requirements on the voltage from the chip. in the spec i see voltage range of :1.7-3.6v but its not enough data for designing converter , (i am designing a converter not using one from the shelf) data i need for example is :

  • maximum continues current that the chip can consume
  • Peak currents
  • Allowed ripple (Pk-Pk voltage ) , ripple frequency .
  • PS load regulation , line regulation
  • Voltage rise time
  • Voltage fall time
  • do we need to discharge the Vcc capacitor after shutdown

thanks ahia

  • Hi,

The max continous current is when the radio is transmitting and the CPU is running alongside a slew of peripherals, for calculation use a value on order of 14-20 mA depending on how many peripherals you want to run. This is also the peak current.

Ripple should be below 100 mV pk-pk.

Load regulation, rise and fall time is determined by the power on reset module, electrical speficication here. Make sure to power different parts of your PCB through a star node, and add a sizeable capacitor there to prevent voltage drops.

    Vcc capacitor should be discharged.

    Best regards,
