Power consumption on BLE ON OFF

Am using NRF52,S132 softdevice

devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../

I took the answer by Ole in the above question as my reference . According to this once I stop advertising and disconnect from any device BLE is completely off. but i could not see any change in power consumption n that case. Should I do anything more than that to turn off RADIO completely?

  • I am talking about average current consumption. Peak current consumption can be up to 10mA, but if you have connection or advertising interval of say 1 sec the average current consumption will be very small. You need a power analyzer or oscilloscope (and shunt resistor) to see the current consumption during connection/advertising events, a multimeter will not be fast enough to register the current consumption during the events.
