NFC ISO support

Which NFC ISO standards are supported by the nRF52832. Does it support ISO/IEC 14443A/B and/or ISO/IEC 15693?

  • Hi,

The NFC peripheral is an implementation of an NFC Forum compliant listening device NFC-A, it supports ISO 14443 A, type 2.

    Best regards,

  • Hi,

I see this question is almost 1 year old. We are a startup working on a medical related HW and we would need iso 15693 NFC-V to be supported. Are there plans for this to be done? Is there any posibility to modify the firmware ourselves to make it ISO-15693 compliant or are ther HW limitations?

  • Not on nRF52 chips released so far, only ISO14443 Type A tag emulation (PICC), no P2P, no Reader mode, no different physical layer like ISO15693.

  • But could in theory the nRF52 support ISO15693? Is it a SW issue alone?

  • I'm afraid problem is already in physical layer, see ISO15693 vs. ISO14443 (slides 5 and 16).
