nrf24l01 antenna selection

i am working with nrf24l01 module with PA LNA circuitry for longer distance transmission.When i bought the module i received an antenna along with it which is an SMA antenna. i want to know based on what factors do i have to choose an antenna so that it works efficiently with the module?

I went through the datasheet i came across parameters like receiver sensitivity , tx output power etc. but i am not sure which i am suppose to consider for antenna selection!

Hi,

Any 50 Ohm 2.4 GHz antenna will work, performance depends on how good ground plane you can provide and the length on the antenna. In general the antenna should be around 3-4 cm long if operating in quarter wavelength, and 15-16cm long if you chose a five/quarter wavelength.

fine thats a good start for me. what do you mean by wavelength here? is it te on air data rate?

The wavelength lambda is determined by the speed of light divided by the frequency of transmission.
