Choosing a SoftDevice

heya all,

I've tried folowing the guidlines for selecting correct SoftDevice for particular DK, but I am completely confused about the whole naming conventions and versions.

I happen to have DevelopmentKit PCA10040 v_0.9.0 with nRF52832 QFAABA

to some extent I would find that I would have to use S132 when I want to use only Bluetooth. on S132 there are some 'older' versions for PCA10040

But then links refer to some newer version of 2.0.0. But under the chip downloads I can also download version 3.0.0-2 alpha, or in compatability matrix for Engineering B and S132 there is version 2.0.0.7 ...

And I am completely lost... can I just use the most up-do date SoftDevice or how exactly can I determine a correct softdevice for particular DK?

It is a bit confusing. You can see from this and this that you have Engineering B revision of the nRF52.

Here you can see that Engineering B is compatible with SoftDevice S132 2.0.0-7.alpha (supported by SDK 11.0.0-2.alpha) and 2.0.0-8.alpha (no SDK support).

If you are going to do some real development I recommend you to get a nRF52 DK with the production version of the chip.
