NRF51/52 as default Linux device

Hi, I'm working on building an embedded computer with Bluetooth capabitilites. I am aware of the various WiFi/Bluetooth chips, but my application does not need WiFi, only Bluetooth (BLE to be specific).

I have a few NRF51822 handy, could I use these as the default Bluetooth device in Linux?

No, you cannot use any nRF device as a standard/generic Bluetooth dongle.

You can use an nRF dongle on your PC but you need proprietary software.

@dingari: the nRF51 can't work as a native Bluetooth device for Linux. But you can use the nRF51822 as the BLE connectivity chip with the driver provided by us. You can try the nRF51-BLE-Driver-Linux here: www.nordicsemi.com/.../nRF51822

The newer beta driver can be downloaded form our github.

I am using nRF52832. The chip is connected by SPI with main board on which Nuttx is running. Kindly provide me the BLE driver/application for Nuttx platform.
