No RF on nRF24L01+

Hello all, I have realized my own board with a msp430 microcontroller and a nRF24L01+. I have configured my nRF24L01+ as described in annex C of the datasheet; the objective is to test the connexion. I read and I write correctly in the different register and CE is set. The current consumption seems to be normal since there is differences function of the choosen output power. However I do not have RF emission. With a 3.5GHZ oscilloscope, I verify CE (high level"), VDD_PA (at 1.8V). I have 1.8V on ANT1 and ANT2 too. I do not understand my problem.

I remark that the die pad is connected to the ground, is this connection can create problem in RF emission Thanks for your future advices.

  • Hi,

Die-pad connected to ground should not be a huge issue. The only thing that can happen is that the radio picks up noise, however, there are many designs out there which has this die-pad soldered to GND which does not have any noise issues. If VDD_PA is high, then it indicates that the device is transmitting, and you should get an RF output. What is the current consumption of the nRF?
