nRF connect v1.0 error

Hi Nordic, I am using PCA10000 v2.2.0 with MCP and FW "MEFW nRF51822 0.11.0"

I just tried the "nRF Connect" under Windows 10 and fail to use it. Below is my steps:

1. Launch "nRF Connect", select the COM port of USB dongle PCA10000.
2. Prompt "No connectivity FW was detected. Do you want to update to ver 1.0.0?", click OK.
3. got "NRF_ERROR_TIMEOUT"
4. Launch MCP and found the dongle didn't respond. I have to re-program it under MCP application.

Is the nRF Connect not ready for Windows10? Why the nRF Connect can not detect the older MEFW 0.11.0? Is it normal?

Now I just can continue use the MCP with PCA10000 dongle.

Hi Henry,

nRF Connect uses our Connectivty firmware and not the Master Emulator firmware from Master Control Panel.

You can find the precompiled hex in C:\Program Files (x86)\Nordic Semiconductor\nRF Connect\hex, where there should be two hex files

connectivity_115k2_with_s130_2.0.1.hex
connectivity_115k2_with_s132_2.0.1.hex

Yes, that is correct, revision 2 chips are not compatible with the S130 v2.0.1, see this overview.
