nrf51822 discovery problem

Hello,

I'm using the nrf51822 chip with S110. The advertising rate is 3 seconds.

I'm testing with 4 different smartphones:

1. Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3, Android 5.0.1
2. Samsung Galasy S3 Neo, Android 4.4.2
3. Samsung Galasy S4, Android 5.0.1
4. Samsung Galasy S5, Android 5.0.1

If I scan for devices I found my device on the both the S3, S4 and S5 within 20 seconds, but on the Xcover 3 I'll found my device allmost never. Also when the Xcover did discover the device it will connect hardly or never.

What could be the problem with the Xcover 3?

Hi,

Try setting the advertising rate faster, some phones have issues with slow advertising rates.

I see. Likely the Xcover 3 only supports advertisements faster than a set rate, to still be power efficient you could advertise quickly in bursts, ie. 3 seconds of 30ms advertising intervals. and then stay off for a set time.
