4 -RGB LED driving - SMLP34RGB2W3

Greetings of the Day!!!

I'm Dinesh Katkar, we team working on wearable IoT design and we need to interface 4 RGB LED-SMLP34RGB2W3 from nRF52832 BLE SoC.I have some queries as belows ,request you to share me the correct solutions for the below queries.

1. Can we Drive 4 RGB LEDs -SMLP34RGB2W3 ( which has 5mA forward current and 2.1 V forward voltage for RED,3.1V for GREEN & 3.0V for BLUE ) directly from GPIO pins of nRF52832 BLE SoC.

2)Do we need Programmable LED driver chip ,because of current capability of BLE?

Hi,

1. The nRF52 can supply this kind of current in high drive mode, however limited to 15 mA source

2. If you plan to use many of these, ie. more then 3 you will have to use a driver IC or drive them through a transistor.
