1 Mbps Bluetooth low energy mode for nRF52832

What is "1 Mbps BluetoothRegistered low energy mode" for nRF52832?

How was the spec. changed from my old year 2013 understanding that BLE is low speed for sensor, sending tens of bytes on coil cell for 1 year. The older BT2 and BT3 support higher speed data and audio.

As in nRF52832 Product Specification v1.1 page 204, section 23, "The RADIO contains a 2.4 GHz radio receiver and a 2.4 GHz radio transmitter that is compatible with Nordic's proprietary 1 Mbps and 2 Mbps radio modes in addition to 1 Mbps BluetoothRegistered low energy mode."
