1 Mbps Bluetooth low energy mode for nRF52832

What is "1 Mbps Bluetooth low energy mode" for nRF52832?

How was the spec. changed from my old year 2013 understanding that BLE is low speed for sensor, sending tens of bytes on coil cell for 1 year. The older BT2 and BT3 support higher speed data and audio.

As in nRF52832 Product Specification v1.1 page 204, section 23, "The RADIO contains a 2.4 GHz radio receiver and a 2.4 GHz radio transmitter that is compatible with Nordic's proprietary 1 Mbps and 2 Mbps radio modes in addition to 1 Mbps Bluetooth low energy mode."

The underlying physical bit rate of Bluetooth LE has always been 1Mb/s, that's in the physical layer spec. You may only send 10s of bytes at a time and there are long gaps between bursts of data transfer, but when data is transferred, the bit rate of that data burst is and always has been 1Mb/s
