nrf52 or dsp processor+nrf8002 -i buy on sunday(tomorrow) a kit

Hello Everyone!

I want to make a project that will recognize some tone in the air, up to 5KHZ, and will send nrf8002 a message as a result. I though to use the nrf52 proccess abilities to make a fft, but i'm afraid it will really consume power from a battary

• is it a possible that it will happen?
• if i will replace the nrf52 with a nrf8002, what is a recommended dsp to use with it?

edit: one more question, i will need nrf8002 anyway, is there a development kit for it also? how can i upload a code to it?(probably a begginer's question :)

if "recognize some tone" means you want to detect the presence of a specific frequency then FFT might be a bit of overkill - you could just sample the values from your microphone, multiply the values with prepared coefficients in a table and sum up the results to get the amplitude. No DSP required.

You cannot upload code to an nRF8002.

You really haven't given enough information on which to base any considered opinion!

So I'll just say, "go with the nRF52" - a simple tone detection shouldn't be hard...
