IOS and NRF can`t work on background or standby mode

Hi, I have IOS application which works fine with bluetooth different than NRF. I use direct connection by UUID in IOS app. When the application is in foreground everything works fine with NRF module, if it goes to the background or phone will go to standby the app doesn`t receive any data from BLE module.

I think this is a problem of advertising setup, but I can`t figure it out what settings should I change.

Hi Marcin,

Did you have a look here ?

That tells what you should do to keep BLE activity in background. But won't work if the app is killed by the user/OS.

If you want to trigger your app again if the BLE device is advertising near by , this may help.

The problem is at the NRF chip settings. The app on IOS works with bluetooth from TI. Probably my nrf module doesnt advertise the UUID. The IOS in foreground sends the UUID request, but on background and standby IOS doesnt send this kind of request, so NRF have to advertise the UUID automatically.

@Marcin: I see, you may want to add the UUID in the advertising packet then. Please have a look at function advertising_init() in our SDK's sample projects, for example ble_app_hrs.
