flash space nRF51822

Hi,

I would like to use nrf51822 chip with 128kB flash. My application was made based on the template version which is attached in SDK v11.0.0. Only blank template version needs around 16kB and together with my code this value achieves up to 30kB. The applied softdevice 130 needs 108kB and bootloader 16kB additonaly. Finally we get 154kB which exceeds maximum flash space. At this point I would like to ask if I can use softdevice S110 v5 which needs only 80kB or is it possible to set up the softdevice 130 as peripheral and thus readucing its flash space.

There will be problems with fitting some applications on the nRF51 with only 128 kB flash. It sounds like you would be better off with a 256 kB flash variant in your case. However, you can use an older SoftDevice as long as it is compatible with the chip revision you have. As you can see from the nRF51 Series IC revisions compatibility with SDK and SoftDevices, the oldest SoftDevice that is compatible with the 3rd revision chip is S110 version 5.2.1.
